Prerequisite: Dive Medical – completed within the last 12 months

Being medically fit to dive is important for your own safety, but also for the safety of your buddy and your instructor.  We require a medical form to be completed prior to any in water activities, and if required, to be approved by a GP.  A copy is held by Get Wet Waikato to ensure you are safe to dive .

Once your medical is completed and held on file.   We can then register you for your SSI  e-learning – at this stage we do ask for a non-refundable deposit of $250.

At the time of registration you will receive e-mail confirmation of your registration which needs to be activated within 2 days.  Your e-learning must be completed prior to starting your course.

It’s really important that you complete your assigned homework / knowledge reviews before the course start date. This gives you time to think of any questions you may have, absorb some of the more technical information and allows us to progress through the theory sections as efficiently as possible approximately 2-6 hours.

Practice training starts onsite and in our pool, timeline is as follows:

Tuesday: 5:30pm – 7:00pm (Meet & Greet, Paperwork & Gear Sizing)
Wednesday: 5:30pm – 9:00pm (Confined Water Session In Pool)
Thursday: 5:30pm – Until Completion Of Confined Water Sessions
Saturday: 8:00am – 2:00pm (Open Water Dives 1 & 2)
Sunday: 8:00am – 1:00pm (Open water dives 3 and 4)

Open water dives will be completed in Whitianga, weather permitting.  You will need to find your own way to Whitianga and supply your own accommodation.

If you need to reschedule your course within 2 weeks prior this can be arranged but there will be a $200 reschedule fee

Please remember: You are booking a course, not simply paying for a certification! There are several key requirements for all courses and if these are not met satisfactorily, we are unable to certify you.
